A couple of potential staff moves to keep an eye on at Georgia: OC Todd Monken may return to the NFL and DBs coach Jahmile Addae also could be moving on, per sources, Feldman tweeted. Fact: Collins is 9-25 after three straight three-win seasons. Everybody is basically doing the same thing.. How do we not beat ourselves? Its more about who left specifically Gibbs. Hell have a number of promising young players to turn to, with the offensive line having the chance to be even better next season. Collins is only three years into a seven-year contract, and his $12 million buyout was just too much for athletic director Todd Stansbury (and boosters) to swallow. But Georgia Techs athletics department is not flush with cash, as an examination by The Athletic illustrated in August. The secondary was a mess in 2021. The team lost its two best defensive backs Carpenter and Juanyeh Thomas to the pros. I look at, can they make our staff better, can they make our players better, do they fit our culture. Does someone fit the culture we are trying to create? The Georgia Bulldogs are still riding high following their first national title since 1980; however, for college coaches, the work never stops. Georgia Tech has not lost an extraordinary number of players. So heres goal No. But he wont be lacking in tutors. But I think we have more talent and depth now, so we have a greater margin for error than in the past.. Collins second recruiting class in 2020 ranked 27th nationally (fifth in the ACC), but the two classes since have ranked 48th (2021) and 53rd (2022). Monken leaving for the NFL, however, would be a much bigger story, and it would be a tough job for Smart to find another coordinator to run the Bulldogs offense as efficiently as Monken.
